Shaheed Memorial Cricket Tournament

The Shaheed Memorial Cricket Tournament, organised under Project Naman, is a testament to UPES’s commitment to honouring the selfless sacrifices of India’s Armed Forces.

In its 11th edition, the tournament paid homage to Late PTR Amit Kumar Anthwal, who lost his life during an operation in Jammu & Kashmir in 2020. As part of Project Naman, UPES contributed ₹5 lakh to his family, offered a job opportunity to one family member, and pledged free education for his children.

The finale witnessed UPES Blue defeating Irrigation Haridwar by 21 runs, marking their fifth consecutive championship victory. The tournament featured eight teams, including UPES Blue, PWD, Irrigation Haridwar, UPCL Roorkee, Agriculture, Pay Jal Department, MDDA, and Jal Sansthan.

Through this tournament and other initiatives under Project Naman, UPES continues to support the families of bravehearts, providing financial aid, educational opportunities, and employment support, while promoting a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
