Gautam R Desiraju

Professor Gautam R. Desiraju, from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, received the esteemed Van der Waals Award in the Senior Scientist category at the 3rd International Conference on Noncovalent Interactions (ICNI-III). This accolade acknowledges his pioneering work in crystal engineering and noncovalent interactions, fundamental to molecular chemistry. The ICNI-III conference, held in Belgrade, Serbia, from June 17th to 21st, 2024, convened global experts to discuss advancements in noncovalent interactions. Professor Desiraju's recognition underscores his significant research and leadership in elucidating intermolecular forces, especially hydrogen bonding.​
