Kanakshi Nema

Kanakshi Nema serves as an Assistant Professor (Law) at UPES, Dehradun, specializing in taxation law. She completed her B.Com from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi and then went on to pursue her LL.B from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi. She completed her LL.M., with specialization in technology and law from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur.  

Ms. Nema has a robust background in technology and cyber laws, complemented by significant research and teaching experience. She has presented her work at prestigious conferences, addressing critical issues in cryptocurrency, blockchain, and sustainable energy law. Her professional journey includes research roles, internships with legal and governmental organizations, and hands-on experience in tax compliance and legal drafting. Actively engaged in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, Ms. Nema has held leadership positions and volunteered for social causes, reflecting her dedication to legal scholarship and community service.

Prior to joining the School of Law at the UPES as an Assistant Professor, she served as a Teaching Assistant at Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, where she contributed to research and academic development. She has also guided students preparing for LL.M. entrance exams, providing personal assistance and study materials. Additionally, she has practical experience working under a tax advocate, where she was involved in tax compliance, legal drafting, and client interaction.

Her teaching pedagogy emphasizes interactive and student-centered learning, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Her approach includes regular assessments and feedback to ensure continuous improvement and understanding. Her goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and excel in the evolving legal landscape.

Kanakshi has taught courses on Legal Methods and Jurisprudence, focusing on providing students with a solid foundation in legal theory and practice.

Ms. Kanakshi Nema qualified for the UGC-NET in December 2023. She was awarded a merit scholarship during her master's program at Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, acknowledging her outstanding academic performance and dedication to her studies.

Ms. Nema has actively pursued additional scholarly activities through specialized certificate courses to enhance her expertise and stay current with emerging trends in law. She completed an add-on course on "RoboRules: The Contours of AI Law and Regulation" from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, which deepened her understanding of the legal implications of artificial intelligence. Additionally, she undertook a course on "Intellectual Property Rights" from University of Delhi, to broaden her knowledge of IP law.
