Work Experience
Dr. Jayasree Saha has recently joined the faculty at UPES. Prior to this, he served as a Visiting research fellow in University of Muenster where she was working in adversarial attacks. Prior to this she was working in IIIT Hyderabad and involved in handling Natural Language Translation Mission (NLTM) Project, MeitY, India, at the CVIT Lab.
Research Interests
Dr. Jayasree Saha’s research is dedicated to the development and application of advanced optimization algorithms to tackle complex challenges in remote sensing, audio-visual applications, and multimedia. His work focuses on deep learning, machine learning, and cutting-edge techniques in these domains, exploring innovative solutions for real-world problems.
With a strong interest in interdisciplinary applications of optimization, his research extends to time-series data analysis, medical image processing, and satellite data processing. Looking ahead, Dr. Saha aims to broaden his research into emerging areas such as intelligent optimization for Earth monitoring, cancer research, and Assistive AI.
Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Jayasree Saha believes that effective teaching goes beyond mere knowledge transfer—it is about sparking curiosity, fostering independent thinking, and making learning an enjoyable experience. She encourages students to go beyond textbooks, engaging with subjects in a way that makes learning both meaningful and enjoyable.
Her teaching approach emphasizes storytelling and interactive sessions, creating a classroom environment where students feel actively involved rather than passive listeners. She values board work over PowerPoint presentations, believing that the process of writing, explaining, and discussing concepts in real time enhances understanding. Above all, she ensures that each session leaves students with a sense of accomplishment and enthusiasm for the subject.
