Mr. Banti Kumar has pursued a Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna and has successfully submitted his thesis. He holds a master’s degree from PDPM Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design, and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur. His research focuses on developing advanced techniques and performing their convergence analysis to address challenges in image hallucination and reconstruction. His work finds applications in healthcare systems and other real-world problems, leveraging conventional methods, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms. Mr. Kumar is committed to creating innovative solutions for classification, reconstruction, and detection tasks. His research emphasizes enhancing existing algorithms and designing new models and methodologies to address real-world challenges effectively.

Mr. Banti Kumar has recently begun his academic career as a faculty member at UPES. This marks his first professional appointment.

Research Interests

Mr. Banti Kumar's research focuses on developing innovative techniques for image processing and analysis, particularly in the areas of face hallucination, object detection, and classification. His work has explored conventional methods, machine learning regression techniques, and deep learning-based approaches to address complex challenges in these domains. He is particularly interested in advancing face hallucination tasks to enhance image quality and resolution, applying deep learning algorithms for accurate object detection, and leveraging convolutional neural networks for bird species classification. Moving forward, Mr. Kumar aims to expand his research into emerging areas such as multi-modal data fusion, generative models for image reconstruction, and the application of deep learning in solving real-world problems across healthcare and environmental monitoring.

Teaching Philosophy

Mr. Banti Kumar believes that teaching is a collaborative and dynamic process that goes beyond traditional classroom instruction. He emphasizes creating an engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and develop problem-solving abilities. His approach integrates hands-on learning, fostering curiosity, and connecting theoretical concepts with practical applications through real-world examples. Mr. Kumar is dedicated to equipping students with both conceptual clarity and technical proficiency by incorporating tools like C, C++, Java, Python, OpenCV, TensorFlow, and other modern technologies. He believes in nurturing a mindset of lifelong learning, preparing students to adapt to the ever-evolving technological landscape while remaining socially responsible and innovative contributors to the world.

  • Image Processing: Foundations of image enhancement, restoration, and reconstruction; feature extraction; real-world applications leveraging MATLAB.
