Dr. Monika Yadav

Dr. Monika Yadav completed her Ph.D. on "Optimal allocation of DG for resilient electrical distribution grid" and M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power System Engineering in 2015 from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Her research work has resulted in the publication of numerous articles in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals and conferences. She possesses expertise in Distribution Grid Expansion Planning, optimization and control problems, and energy alternatives.

Dr. Yadav has been an active member of the IEEE community, earning the status of an IEEE Senior Member since 2022. Additionally, she holds the certification of Distribution Engineer's Trainer from the Power Sector Skill Council of India (PSSCI), Ministry of Power, India, in 2019. Dr. Yadav's research endeavours focus on technology development for social benefits, including her involvement in delivering technical training programs to TATA Power Solar on "Grid code compliance for renewable energy (RE) integration."

Dr. Monika Yadav's research interests encompass various areas, including Distribution Grid Expansion Planning, Resiliency enhancement of distribution grid against disturbances, Sustainable planning of distribution systems, Grid code compliance for renewable energy (RE) integration, and Microgrid Reliability.

Dr. Yadav firmly believes in prioritizing societal impact over mere technical and economic aspects in education. She strives to design and deliver technical curricula that align with current social needs. By infusing technical education with social imperatives, she empowers students to become responsible engineers and technologists who can contribute positively to society. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes holistic understanding and responsible innovation. She has also organized industrial trips for students to Dhanu thermal power plant to enhance their technical skills.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Yadav has taught various core electrical subjects and multidisciplinary subjects like Power Systems, Switchgear and Protection, Electrical Machines, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Embedded Systems, and Electromagnetic Field Theory, among others. Apart from teaching and research, she provides mentorship to B.Tech and M.Tech students as needed and conducts GATE classes for students.

Dr. Monika Yadav has been recognized as an IEEE Senior Member in 2022. She has also received distinctions in her post-graduation and graduation degrees.

As a mentor, Dr. Yadav has successfully guided a group of undergraduate students in developing cutting-edge technology solutions, resulting in the creation of a Universal portable charging kit. She actively engages students in research, fostering idea exchange and sharing her extensive knowledge in the field, leading to the publication of numerous research papers in prestigious SCI/Scopus-indexed journals and reputable conference proceedings.
