Work Experience
Vishal Sharma has extensive experience in academia and research, spanning over a decade. He worked as an Assistant Professor-II at DIT University, Dehradun (2013–2018), where he contributed significantly to teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities. Before joining DIT University, he was an Assistant Professor at IIMT, Meerut (2010–2011), where he played a key role in academic and administrative activities. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Lecturer at IIMT, Meerut (2009–2010), gaining valuable experience in teaching and curriculum development. Additionally, he has industry experience, having worked as a Technical Support Engineer at RT Outsourcing (Lenovo Process) (2008–2009), where he provided technical assistance for Lenovo products. His diverse experience in both academia and industry has equipped him with a strong foundation in teaching, research, and technical problem-solving.
Research Interests
Vishal Sharma research interests encompass Geospatial Data Science, Remote Sensing, and Machine/Deep Learning, with a focus on image processing, SAR analysis, and crop yield prediction. He employs advanced machine learning techniques for climate impact assessment and geospatial analytics using platforms like Google Earth Engine. His work includes flood mapping, vegetation monitoring, and land use classification, alongside developing GIS-based models for environmental monitoring. Driven by innovation, he aims to optimize crop classification and enhance precision agriculture through AI.
