Her research is dedicated to the development of efficient, secure, adaptive, and privacy-preserving systems, with applications across diverse fields such as healthcare systems, autonomous vehicles, and semantic communication. Her work aims to ensure enhanced performance, security, and adaptability in dynamic environments. 

Work Experience

 Dr. Madhureeta Das has recently joined the esteemed faculty at UPES, bringing with her a wealth of academic and industry experience. Prior to her appointment at UPES, she served as a Teaching Assistant, where she was responsible for conducting lab sessions and worked as a Research Assistant on various projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), at the Michigan Technological University, USA. Also, she has practical industry experience as a Software Engineer at ValueLabs LLP. 

Research Interests

Dr. Madhureeta Das’s research focuses on developing efficient and secure systems in areas such as domain adaptation for secure knowledge transfer, enhancing the performance of tiny models, and semantic communication under domain incremental knowledge. Her work aims to push the boundaries of machine learning while addressing critical security challenges in the field. At the heart of her research is a deep commitment to advancing knowledge that is not only technically rigorous but also ethically responsible. Her scholarship philosophy is guided by three principles: innovation, collaboration, and impact. She believes that meaningful contributions to science and technology should push the boundaries of what is possible, all while ensuring that the outcomes benefit society as a whole. In line with these philosophies, she aims to continue contributing to the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a focus on creating solutions that are sustainable, secure, and beneficial for the greater good. 

Teaching Philosophy

Dr. Madhureeta Das’s teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that education should foster critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong passion for learning. Her aim is to create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore complex ideas, ask questions, and apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. In the rapidly evolving fields of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), it is essential to equip students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills and ethical awareness. 

Courses Taught

Dr. Madhureeta Das teaches courses  

  • Digital Electronics: Focusing on the fundamentals and advanced concepts of digital circuits, logic gates, Boolean algebra, flip-flops, and microprocessor architecture.
  • Object Oriented Programming: Covering core programming concepts like classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, and encapsulation, using languages such as Java to develop efficient, modular software solutions. 

Scholarly Activities

  • Contributed impactful research to the IEEE Global Communications Conference.
  • Presented research findings at international conferences focusing on security and privacy (EAI SmartSP).
