daughters. The programs aimed at increasing their confidence
level by improving their communication and
grooming skills. An interesting mix of moral stories, poems,
songs and the like were used as part of the training
methodology. The daughters’ were exposed to basic skills of
computers. Another dimension of this program was enhancing self
– esteem and motivating these girls to think positively through
a therapeutic use of music and dance as well as a special
session on 'Self - Analysis'.
Community Service is most often seen as an act of philanthropy. At UPES, we believe that we can be of service to the community in multiple ways. We believe that we must also look inwards and improve our own operations such that it causes minimal effect on the society and environment around us.
UPES has undertaken a number of Community Outreach Programmes like adoption of 5 nearby village schools. UPES is providing material support in the form of computers, furniture, stationery, etc, and fully supporting educational expenses of 11 girls adopted from nearby villages. UPES also runs a rigorous 10-day coaching camp in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to prepare class 10 and 12 students from nearby villages for the AIEEE examination. This service is provided gratis and includes free boarding facilities.
