In a similar vein, Dr. Karan Singh spoke of the high ethical and cultural values that India has inherited. He quoted shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita and stressed on the aspect of doing one’s duty irrespective of the fruits of one’s labour. He fondly remembered his association with Uttarakhand and Dehradun in particular where he spent his initial student days. Dr. Singh also lauded the community development initiatives of UPES.
