Centre for Information Technology (CIT) is the shared vision and goal of UPES and IBM to provide a dynamic IT education platform to the next generation of students. In 2010, UPES and IBM India joined hands as partners to reinvent IT education in the country, at the graduate level by launching a series of new futuristic industry aligned Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) courses under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering along with the basic Computer Engineering courses.The courseware design and delivery mechanism is to enable the students to learn industry relevant skill sets along with the basic Computer Engineering courses. Students specializing in different disciplines of  Computer Engineering will study computer hardware, microcomputers, software engineering, digital signal and image processing, electromagnetic fields, electronic devices and circuits, and computer organization and design apart from their respective domain specialized courses.   
This collaboration, co-operation and joint working of UPES with IBM, is aimed to bridge the gap that existed till now between Education, Skills development & Industry requirements. This is a new education paradigm fabricated through Academic-Industry collaboration.
